| - umm...just OK. been here several times over the years and this is what i think, after having sampled most of their goods. it should be noted that i am a dessert lover and know what's up in the sugar dept.
urban cookies: small storefront, plenty of spaces in front and in back. easy to access and very much a to-go kind of place. no seating inside.
the service is often very helpful if not a little stale and cold. definitely know what they're talking about, but oftentimes that kind of doe-eyed 20something i'd-rather-be-vaping or getting ANOTHER tattoo kind of demeanor. Food Network hipster deal. you know the score.
cookies: pretty good flavor. not too hard, not under-baked. not great. but serviceable. a step above getting a pre-packed at Whole Foods.
cupcakes: a little dense for my taste. i likes my cupcakes fffluffy. but these days in the cupcake movement, heavier cake and ttthick icing seems to be the thing.
misc/bars: good enough. caramel bar, vegan bar, decent.
the amenities here are LACKING...for example, this is arizona and ya know...it's HOT. needless to say, if you're a food place, you should have SOME kind of filtered water available for your customers. i asked the counter jockey for a cup of water (while spending more than $10 on cookies) and she awkwardly told me they don't have any but i can buy a damn bottled/sugared drink in their mini-fridge. SERIOUSLY HOW DO YOU NOT HAVE W-A-T-E-R FOR YOUR PAYING CUSTOMERS??? GRR, baby. Grr.
bathroom? No. w-t-f.
everything here is OK enough, but lacking heart. the food, the service, and i'm guessing the owner(s). hey man, anyone can make sugar treats taste goodish...but if i'm gonna spend lots o' dough on YOUR dough, you need to show me more creativity, better customer care and some warmth. don't just be another business in a medium-sized metro area. show some heart, son!
