Despite some of the people's misleading reviews, Lao Laan Xang is actually a Lao restaurant and the cuisine is Laotian cuisine. In neon lights hanging from the front window of the restaurant, it actually says Laotian cuisine so I don't understand why some people here keep referring to this place as anything else.
The restaurant is named Lao Laan Xang because Laan Xang aka Lan Xang (Land of a Million Elephants) was the old name for the country of Laos. The word Lao is included in the name of the restaurant to let people know it's a Lao restaurant serving Lao cuisine. You're eating Lao cuisine, hence the name "Lao" Laan Xang.
Anyway, now that I got that out of the way, Lao Laan Xang is a great place to go to for awesome Lao food. Kang Gai is a traditional Lao chicken soup that Lao Laan Xang is known for. You should definitely try it at Lao Laan Xang. You can't go wrong with ordering Lao sticky rice from Lao Laan Xang. That's how Lao food is traditionally eaten.
Don't forget to order their many wonderful Lao curries like Kang Phet and others.
