  • Do NOT bring your ring here for jewelry repairs!! I have had my wedding ring for 10 years. I bring my ring in annually (as recommended) to get the prongs checked and retipped. The jeweler only retipped one prong (that's odd) which was fine but I wanted all four done. So I waited another few days for all of them to be done. 6 months later, I clean my ring with jewelry cleaner, go to the mall with my kids, come home, wash my hands and my diamond is gone. One of the prongs has BROKEN IN HALF. The only way that should EVER happen is if something substantial has happened ... Like an impact or at least something noticeable.... OR if you haven't done your prongs and they have been weakened over normal wear and tear. Neither of those are the case. So yes. I blame the jeweler who did not pay too much care into repairing my prongs to keep my center stone safe. I absolutely LOVED that stone. And I am heart broken. Edit : Summerlin Jewelers keeps saying that the prong would not just break off on its own. I COMPLETELY AGREE. IT ABSOLUTELY SHOULD'NT! Unless it's been damaged or has had a significant cause for break. I COMPLETELY AGREE!! And since that didn't happen .... The only other option is that it was crap work from whomever worked on my ring last. I brought it in for prong maintenance ... And now my stone is missing.
