I found Saints & Scissors Salon through Yelp and have always gone to Paul.
There is no problem with parking even though it is downtown Scottsdale.
The salon has a funky vibe and is not pretentious like some Salons in Scottsdale.
Paul has done my hair, I think four or five times.
Pros: Paul does not push what he thinks would look good, but listened to what I wanted.
He is friendly.
My coloring has always been on point. I go for dark brown and he blends the color throughout my hair. It looks natural.
Cons: I've always had my hair colored and can expect some dye stains on the skin. That is a given. Except the last two times my son has scrubbed more dye then what usually occurs from my ears (inside and out) and the back of my neck that I couldn't see. Good thing my twelve year old was looking out for me!
Sadly the last two times I had my hair trimmed, my hair was left uneven and parts were not cut. The first time the salon was packed and Paul had clients waiting so he was rushed and had another stylist finish up blow drying my hair. (note: I have long and thick hair so my appointments are usually longer) I went back to get my trim evened out and the parts that were missed cut. I chalked it up to being busy and rushed. No biggie as we all have off days.
I went back to have a trim and a dye after this and was left with another uneven haircut and chunks of hair still not cut. My husband told me it appeared to slope down towards one side, but "you wouldn't notice if you weren't looking at it!" Ahmmm...thanks honey?
I've included the photos of the second trim. Frustrating.
I am going back to my first stylist, my mom.
