  • We came in around 7pm on a Friday night and was told the wait would be 40 minutes or so. It's too late to go to another place anyways so we decided to wait. They have a nice waiting area with big screen playing music videos so it's not too bad. After 40 minutes or maybe a little longer we were seated and offered menu. However it took them a really long time to come back to take our order. People who were seated after us got their orders taken way before ours. That was strike #1. Finally the server came take our order and we opted for the Gangnam set thinking it probably has the most popular items. Since we had more than two people we ordered a chicken fried rice thinking it should be enough food. It took the server a long time to bring us the banchan and water. Nothing special about the banchan and it was a little disappointing from a non-ayce place. Chicken fried rice arrived first before any other starter items. Which was okay because I was really hungry so any food that came to the table was welcomed. Fried rice was hot with huge chunks of chicken and nice separated grains. The starters all tasted quite decent. Oyster was fresh and sweet. HOWEVER! Now that I went back to look at menu writing this review I realized they didn't give us the fried calamari! (I was going to give this place 2 stars but now it's down to 1) We chose bulgogi bibimbap instead of white rice and Korean prime kalbi instead of the kalbi. The bibimbap was nice and hot. We started to grill our first item which was the filet mignon. Right when I was about to dip that into the sauce I found out the server didn't give us any sauce. At first I thought this place doesn't offer sauce but then it's kind of impossible because all kbbq places I've been to have some kind of sauce or at least salt? Then we looked around and saw sauce plates on every single table but ours. Then we had to track down the busy waiter before we could proceed to eat our meal. Strike #2. Halfway through the meal the server came to take away some empty meat plates and my sister's bowl that she was eating her fried rice and bibimbap with. I looked at the server in disbelief because she was still eating her meal. Not only was the service slow the entire night but when they chose to be attentive they did it the wrong way. Since the server's too hard to track down now my sister had to eat her meal with no bowl. Strike #3. The nice thing about this place is that we can do yelp check-in and get free macaroon ice cream sandwich for dessert. We got coffee, strawberry, and mango and they just tasted like any macaroon ice cream sandwich at most ayce kbbq places. The quality of the meat here is not better than other ayce places and that's a big disappointment from the great reviews they have. I think this place is really lacking in service here. I felt that the kitchen was working very hard and able to provide nice fried rice in a timely manner so they're doing their job right. If they can better train their server I believe they can reduce the wait time significantly.
