| - It's a 3, but a very weak 3. I'm not a buffet connoisseur by any means, but this does not compare to Wicked Spoon in the slightest (not that I think it's trying to, but - still, that's the comparison I can make).
Even though the place was mostly empty, there was a pretty odd artificial queue in place. I get them not wanting to just let a thousand people hit the buffet all at once...but...still seemed strange.
Once seated, we were unleashed to do our damage. The food spread seemed to me very heavily tilted towards lunch/afternoon/dinner foods, honestly, with pizza, dumplings, even Mexican and Indian food. The variety was nice, but I think I would have liked more breakfast options...maybe I somehow missed them? I will call out that the lamb korma was surprisingly good for hotel buffet Indian food - nice tender flavorful lamb.
On the other hand, there were drinks stations (one with Thai iced tea that I really wanted to try) but no glasses to be found anywhere. I finally located some about the size of a thimble and just decided to skip the effort. Even getting water to the table took until about halfway through the meal, so maybe their queue was to limit impact on a too-small amount of staff?
I do want to call out their French macarons, which were excellent - fresh and tender with chewy shells. They also had "mountain yuzu" sorbet or gelato which was so so good - I'm obsessed with yuzu, so I was very pleasantly surprised to find it randomly at this buffet.
Price was, I thought, high, but so is everything in Vegas. My 3 star review means "I'll come back"...and...I guess I would come back...but...man, it would be a tough choice. I wouldn't say "never" but I would definitely try a lot of other options first...hence the very weak 3.
