I have heard some good reviews from yelp and facebook for Lucky Foos so I was excited to try the food here when I went for the sake testing night that was hosted in this place last night. When I first arrived, I was amazed on the nice Asian zen decor and such a spacious place. Service was on point, however, food was not.
Food:
1. Lucky rice(1/5): This is the dish I was excited to try since everyone was raving about it. This dish has kimchi, bacon, chicken and fried eggs. It was really really salty. I had to drink a sip of water each time I had a bite. The flavor was not bad but it was way too salty and has too much sauce. For $7, I didn't really see much chicken in there.
2. Spicy salmon roll (3/5): I know better not to order sushi in fusion restaurant but my friend wanted a roll. It was mediocre and plain.
3. Shrimp with jalapeƱo bacon robata skewer (3/5): it wasn't too bad but they used too much sauce when bacon was already salty.
4. Mushroom mazemen (3.5/5): this dish has mushroom, pea spouts, Parmesan cheese and noodle. It has all my favorite ingredients and it was not salty thank god! This ended up being the favorite of ours for that night but it was not that great either.
Overall dining experience was underwhelmed. Although it's a nice place to hangout and grab a drink, I doubt I will be retuning anytime soon for the food.
