| - I've been to Yuk Yuk's Calgary comedy club at the Elbow River Casino many times and always enjoyed it. You're always in for something different, sometimes it's the MC, opener or middle act that ends up stealing the show, but most of the time the headliners are the reason you'll want to go! However the night plays out one thing is for sure, you're going to laugh and you're going to smile for at least some of it :).
The staff here has always been good to us as well, despite serving a large crowd they're usually quick with drink and food orders, and the kitchen is efficient with delivering on these orders! The ticket counter attendees and doormen are nice as well, sometimes we even joke around with each other now that we've earned a little more of a "regular" status. If you're brave like us try sitting at the front some time, this is what we always do, best spot in the house if you're not afraid of being picked up and getting involved haha.
The food menu is limited to a very small appetizer selection; pretty conventional pub selections that won't blow you away. Nachos are your best value here for sure, chicken fingers are decent as well but no fries included :(. The small food menu is matched by an equally small drink menu, very limited bottle and draft selection. We usually go with the Village Wit. The plus side is their drinks are priced reasonable enough, definitely better than most of Calgary these days. Grab a pitcher for max value ;). The show itself is also priced fairly at about $20/ticket, if you can make the Thursday show this goes down to around $12. Pretty cheap for live entertainment IMO considering you're guaranteed at least a few good laughs! If it's a special show that features a bigger name comic you can expect to pay a bit more, even so these are usually only a couple bucks more in the $23-25 range. Check the schedule online ahead of time to see who is performing.
It's pretty hard to tell which shows are going to be busy and which ones are going to be quiet, we've seen it play out against expectation before so I always recommend buying tickets ahead of time and making a reservation! I think we can all agree that life should be full of laughter and smiles, so I'd definitely recommend checking out Yuk Yuk's next time you're looking for something to do on the weekend. Anytime we've convinced friends to join us they're always glad they came :). My only knock against the experience is the limited menu, but we always get over this pretty quick.
