  • That store is still in business? I don't know how. I just read Nadine R's negative comments about Quilter's Oasis. I, too live in Augusta Ranch, and I was also treated VERY disrespectfully seven years ago when I began quilting. I will never go in that shop again. I was shopping with two friends and asked Kathy, the owner, a question about a quilt pattern. She turned to one of my friends and quietly said, "tell her (me) that I am not her personal shopper!" I went over to Kathy and asked her if she had said that and she said yes. I told her I was a new quilter and only asked her a question, and Kathy said she had been busy with another customer (I didn't see one) and didn't have time to answer my question. I told her I would NEVER shop there again. If Kathy was busy with another customer, she might have been polite and said, "I'd be happy to help. I'll be with you in a minute, I'm with another customer." Nope. All the other quilt shops in the southeast valley have polite and courteous employees who appear to sincerely want to help a customer. Too bad for this business. Industry studies show that a customer who has had a bad experience will tell seven people. Since I have been in two large quilt groups and one small one, I have had the delight of telling over 150 quilters about my experience. That store is the closest quilt shop to me and they have lost several thousands of dollars of my business and others because of rudeness.
