| - The second I stepped into the Mint Thai Café, I was surrounded by Thai culture. Thai music filled the small restaurant. The restaurant was decorated with elephants as well as common Hindu symbols and art. The tables were covered with fabrics of colorful patterns. Curtains of the same fabric covered the windows and entrances to the kitchen and bathrooms. The back wall was painted of a Thai beach. My family and I were greeted by a small Thai hostess who asked with a friendly smile, "how many?" and then proceeded to lead my family of five to a table, while she held a conversation about how our day was. She even tried to make my little sister laugh, which was unsuccessful because my sister is quite shy, but it was still nice having such a friendly waitress. Since the restaurant was small and not very busy, our waitress was fully attentive and took care of our every want and need right away. The service was amazing!
First, my family ordered a large soup called Tom Ka Gai. The soup included chicken, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, etc. The soup had the perfect spicy kick to it, while having an amazing flavor, too. I definitely recommend this to all customers! Next, our entrées arrived. I ordered the Siamese Twins which was a green curry. It included chicken, bamboo shoots, Thai leaves, green beans, and white rice. The sauce was, just like the soup, the perfect combination of a spicy kick and a tasty flavor! It was so delicious, I cleared my whole plate!
The Mint Thai Café is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to and it is my favorite. I plan to dine here many more times in the future and I suggest lovers of Thai and spicy food take the time and eat there. Not only was the food amazing, but so was the service and the environment. You walk into a pure and friendly Thai culture, which a lot of restaurants around here do not have. It is also small and not too busy so it is nice being away from big crowds and loud areas. I recommend the Mint Thai Café to all.
