  • As a long term resident of the city, the CN Tower isn't really something I would normally do (the first time I went up was after 6 years in the city) However, when I'm entertaining guests from out of town, everyone always wants to go here. In peak season you can expect looooong waits to get up the tower and once you're up there, the place is crowded; so getting a goo view or decent pictures without random heads in your shot is quite tricky. But if you come out of season, say the last week in March, there is hardly anyone around. We bought our tickets, walked up to the elevator and went right up. There are a few main attractions but the best deal is the Observation + Skypod experience. This package gives you access to the look out on the main level, the glass floor (one level down) as well as the skypod (a little observation pod some 15 storeys higher). Be warned though, being the premier tourist trap in the city, it's very expensive. The Observation + Skypod experience will set you back $28.99 + HST per person (not counting the souvenir photos, which you are not obligated to buy). But the tower does offer the best views in the city. You can easily spend an hour or more gazing at the entire panorama of Toronto and beyond (on a clear day you can see the tower and the building at Niagara Falls across the lake).
