| - I've been pretty stoked about this spot for a while- I'm a big fan of women-owned and operated neighbourhood spots and these ladies are seasoned sud-ouest food and beverage experts. Visually, the place is adorable inside and out and everything you'd wish for in a little marché/comptoir spot. The service, similarly, is lovely.
On the pastry front, I agree with another reviewer in that the baked goods are pretty underwhelming on taste. Given that Patrice and Mamie Clafoutis are a fifteen-minute walk from this spot, I really hope these guys up their sweet game. The sandwiches, however, make the spot worth-while; the breakfast sandwiches are stacked and affordable (with some awesome cheese) and they have a $4 vegan BLT served all day which I think is a pretty big deal.
The marché part of la pantry is a bit of a mess- last time we were waiting for our sandwiches we spotted, with just a glance, two expired items sitting in the freezer. I think with a bit more of a stocked inventory these guys could probably market better as a marché and pass product, which would be awesome because we could seriously use a cute little store of the like in the neighbourhood. On the flip, the local beer selection is boss here, though pricey.
