| - *ugh* We normally eat very healthy meals, but every once in awhile we will splurge, but the food better be pretty fantastic on splurge days. This was not, and it was not even mediocre at best. My husband had fish & chips on the brain, so we split that and ordered an appetizer of Italian Nachos. I had lobster bisque to start. It was ok, big chunks of lobster, but just ok. The Italian Nachos were a complete disappointment. I told my husband they were not even worth eating. The "pizza crust" is like store bought, non-flavored crust of some kind cut up into triangles and pre-baked (not real pizza crust). The whole conglomeration is topped with marinara, sausage, a few black olives, and mozzarella. The waitress brought the fish & chips out and immediately after looking at them I knew they wouldn't live up to the hype. They looked over cooked, a deep brown, almost if the oil was not the right temperature when they started frying them. The batter wasn't crispy and had no discernible flavor. The only way I could choke down a piece of fish was with lots of malt vinegar and tartar sauce. The fries were limp and bland. What a waste of a meal! Immediately after eating, I felt like I had swallowed a brick, and that feeling has stuck with me for almost 3 hours now. Hence the unhappy review. I can see the draw to go here, and I would consider going back for a beer and sports on the tv, but that is it. I wouldn't consider ordering any food again.
