  • We live in a society nowadays where people are targeted based on the color of their skin, their religion, their sexual preference etc. My sister is a single black woman who moved to Las Vegas to better herself and excel in her career. She decided to move into Elysian at Stonelake apartments as she assumed this was a safe neighborhood. It is a gated community and in a good part of town. While sleeping in her home at 1am a bullet entered through her apartment window puncturing her drywall. My sister immediately reported the incident to the apartment manager advising she no longer felt safe and wanted to relocate. The apartment manager's rebuttal was "I have no availability." Again, my sister is a single woman with no one to protect her. This incident occurred over the weekend and the apartment manager has yet to assist her with housing accommodations nor have they repaired her window. Fortunately, for my sister her brother in law is very well known in Las Vegas and has escalated this matter to channel 13 news for an interview. We have also escalated this matter to corporate. It appears Elysian cares nothing about the safety of a single young black woman who resides in an apartment alone. Elysian will NEVER get a recommendation from anyone in our family. Please be advised an extremely close family friend is a lawyer and if need be we will take legal matters to get this resolved ASAP.
