| - I get told often that I'm "the best Dad in the world" via Facebook comments or from my clients. Now, that is completely debatable and I always appreciate the compliments, so thank you in advance! My guess about why this gets told to me so often is that I have a keep appreciation for what it was like to be a kid myself.
My son is almost 8, and this summer we took a 6 day road trip in the midwest, centered around what was soon to be my favorite city, Pittsburgh. While spending our second day in the city, we walked around E. Carson street, figuring we'd find some cool shops to kill some time. Boy, did we ever. A few I've already mentioned, but for whatever reason while being rushed into Groovy by my over-eager son, I failed to get the name of this store. Thankfully, I received a DM via YELP re: the name of this magnificent store.
Now that my backstory is given, where should I begin? My son saw Star Wars figurines in the window as we passed by, grabbed my hand, and pulled me back to the window front. We burst through the front door so quickly that I wonder why there is even a front door still intact. Wall-to-wall figurines from Star Wars, Transformers, GI Joe, Simpsons, Toy Story, and more decorate this ultimate haven for toy collectors. My days of collecting are well past at this point, but living vicariously through my son's amazement was pretty darn cool. As we were travelling pretty light for our trip, there wasn't room for all the toys we would love to have purchased, but the experience alone of this store was worth the trip to Carson St. that day. Prices were unbelievably low for some of these items, so with more room, you can guarantee that we would have come home with more toys than Santa leaves the North Pole on Christmas Eve with.
