| - My friend lent his car to a relative who proceeded to get it impounded. He called the towing company to ask how much it would cost to get it out of impound on his payday (today) and if they took credit cards. They gave him the hours (someone's there until 4:30, they said), told him $151 and yes, they took credit cards. I drove him there and it was closed. He called; they told him to wait for 20 minutes. We waited and when he went in, they told him it was $200 plus and they did not take credit cards. If I hadn't waited, he would have been stuck in 112 degree heat with no ride. We then had to race to his bank to try to get the cash.
They never apologized or explained why the price change and why they said they took credit cards yet, surprise, he got there and it was cash only. It felt like they were running a scam to get a few extra days impound fees. I'm just saying, if you're unlucky enough to have to get your car out there, better take more cash than they tell you. Oh, by the way, they don't take credit cards. At least not on Fridays.
