| - So, I thought that I would be the first to review this place and I waited to have an actual experience here in PHX versus PHL. And I did need patio furniture and a friend of mine needed a leather sofa set...so I thought I'd wait for it all to be delivered and then review. Well...
I feel a bit torn. I was aware that the items here would not be "cheap" as I know that The Dump gets quality goods that may be hard to find and then offers things at a fraction of the price...a price which is already exorbitant. B U T... I have found that outdoor furniture in particular in AZ is more expensive than most places that I have lived. Must be the demand to inhabit our ever inhabitable nights of February to November. In any event, I fell in love with a set for my outback sanctuary made by Agio ( the same people who Disney uses for its resort furnishings, fyi) and found myself purchasing at over 35% more than I intended! But then I love the stuff.
Next...Linda, hooked me up with the promise of next day delivery which compelled me even more to happily spend my savings. With the deal done and the excellent customer service of Linda ( whom I recommend versus Tammy for which I will explain later), I eagerly went home and told EVERYONE about my purchase and prepared my perversely plain peasant poor patio.
THE WAITING IS THE HARDEST PART...
The delivery window was never determined. It was told that it would happen on a Sunday between 8am and 9pm. That is no window. That is a chasm of my life given to grief and stress and suffering and greed and unkind intentions. I called at 10am to customer service to narrow things down and found that computer outages and late loading issues meant that my order was not set for delivery. Upset and about to reveal my savvy with a keyboard and venomous spirit, I was quelled by the promise of a follow up phone call to right this wrong. By 1pm, the phone was dismissively silent and my plans for a beautiful day were dying as I sat around the house anticipating respite in my newly defined hideout, and I got more bitter. I made another call.
The outcome of the follow up call was better. Apologies were exchanged. I for my bitter thinking and evil planning and they for their negligence. A silly explanation was followed by the guarantee of a delivery late that evening. Then 9pm came and no furniture. I cried. Having no way to contact their "customer disservice" post 8pm on a Sunday, I was left to leave a hateful message on their voicemail for the innocent morning recipient. Somehow at exactly 10:30pm, a strange number registered on my phone and a distant voice confirmed that there would be a delivery at my home in about an hour.
AND THEY CAME...at 11:45pm. Wow.
Now, the story of my friend who having heard about my delivery saga and the love of my new chaises, decided to give The Dump a try for her leather sofa needs. She too fell in love with a reasonably priced Brompton piece of cranberry deep comfort, and suffered very poor delivery service. Her order was promised a week later but was not confirmed by her agent ( the aforementioned Tammy who is new and is learning so we will forgive her because she also was willing to do whatever it took to make it right...including forgo her commission...really). They are sitting on their living room floor as I type this, absolutely disgusted and willing to pay $3K more to actually have the sofa in the house as promised.
So, it does seem a consistent issue. The Dump is ok if you don't care WHEN you get dumped on!
