  • I'm torn on this place. I took my cat in after getting a whiff of his breath. I've had many cats in my life, and don't recall any of them that had breath like his! In any event, I had to bring him in at 730 am. They were going to give him a dental check, cut his nails, express anal gland. They had to put him under for this. So after dropping him off, had more paperwork to fill out. They took him in the back and the lady behind counter said, " let's get your downpayment taken care of"...BOOM, $250 . I leave thinking, "well that's ok, I'll probably only owe $100 or so when I pick him up". They call me about 11am, and say his tooth looks shaky, but they did periodontal stuff on the affected teeth, and we decided to keep the teeth and check them in a year. I pick him up around 2 pm. She lays the bill down.... $350 MORE! So $600. Look, I understand that there's pet maintenance but this place is ridiculous. Dr Danner is a good vet, but this place is a financial slaughterhouse. There's gotta be better places out there for my animal at more reasonable prices. So, VCA, I give up. You charge more for animals than places charge for people. I've tried, but this is the last you'll see of us. So if you had pulled his 2 teeth while under, the bill would have been what... $1000, $1300? All I can do is warn others, as others have here on yelp, about your outrageous billing practices. Be warned people. This place will rip your wallet to shreds. I've had this feeling after my last couple run ins, so shame on me. NEXT DAY.. So, I get a lukewarm response back from them saying they're disappointed I wasn't "happy" with my "experience " with them. No mention of their charges. I went back and looked in my records about all my past " experiences" with them. Here's what they do in their flurry of pages they hit you with when doing something with them. In the paperwork, you'll see written quotes from them saying their estimate will be let's say.... $250 to $600. Everytime, basically your downpayment is the lowest estimate. When you go to pick up your beloved animal, ( when your at your lowest emotionally and just want to get your little guy home). They hit you with their highest estimate as the final bill. It's the same with all my dealings with them. So, even though they didn't pull my cats 2 affected teeth, just did periodontal scaling, I got hit with the highest estimate anyhow. This place won't change, this is just getting me more upset. Just understand the game they're playing. You've been warned through my "experiences " with them. You'll ALWAYS pay whatever their highest estimate is, plus more.
