  • I took my boyfriend here last week. I had talked about this place and he wanted to check it out too. Anyway, he had a cappuccino-ish fancy beverage and I had a rooibos tea. I love rooibos tea, so their little pot full of it so I could keep refilling my cup is genius. My boyfriend's coffee bevvy was good too. But let's be honest here: the service is atrocious. I have been to Higher Ground a few times, and every single time the guy taking my order looks bored out of his mind, almost to the point that he looks like he's going to yell at you if you ask him something. They never even look at me when I'm ordering. If I do happen to ask questions, they look clearly annoyed. I'm not asking for valet service here, but at least look at me when I'm ordering. Its pretty ridiculous how bad the service is honestly. You might as well just have a drive through and bark through the little microphone/speaker thing. But then we wouldnt get to sit down in the uber-buzzing cafe packed with students on their Macs, every one of them either mooching off of the S-bux internet or choosing to pay the $5/hour, somehow.
