  • I very rarely give out a 5 Star review. Coming from Colorado, our BBQ options are limited. As a NC native, I know what good BBQ is. On our recent trip back to NC, we had it in our plans to find a really good BBQ place and I think we did. While this restaurant may not be approved of by the purists who think good BBQ only comes from a busted old building with linoleum floors, plastic trays and a ceiling fan, it's approved of by me and my family. Nice decor and televisions to watch various sporting events are a bonus. The prices were very competitive. We tried the brisket, pulled pork, ribs, burnt ends and sausage along with sides of bacon wrapped jalapeños, collard greens and hushpuppies. Everything we had was excellent. The brisket and ribs were up there with the best I have ever had. The sausage had killer flavor. The side items were solid, with the collard greens being the best I've hand, bar none. If I lived locally, I'm afraid of how often I would go to Midwood. Thank you for fulfilling our family's goal of getting good, wood smoked BBQ on our trip.
