We went there after our son injured his foot. We waited about 45 minutes in the lobby before being called back, even though we were the only people there. I think it was because we arrived about 30 minutes before a shift change and they wanted to wait until the next shift started. Then we waited about another 20 minutes in the exam room for a doctor. We were sent to xray and the technician was bending his foot in all sorts of directions, even through he was in pain. The ER doctor said he had broken and told us to follow up with an orthopedic doctor. The nurse taped the toe with first aid tape and gave him a post op shoe.We got our insurance statement and they charged the insurance company $2800. So they charged all that money to basically do first aid and tell us to have it looked at by a doctor!
We followed up with the orthopedic doctor and brought the xrays from the emergency room. They said the xrays were useless because they should have taken them when our son was standing up. So he had additional xrays done and there and turns out he had broken two toes and fractured another. Had the xrays been done properly they would have seen it. The doctor then wrapped ALL the toes that were broken and gave him a proper fitting post op shoe and he felt much better. Cost for the ortho visit: $200
And there is something fishy about the way they do the paperwork there. When we went in they asked for a driver's license and the insurance card. We gave them the cards and then sat down. 20 minutes later we went back up to get the cards and the receptionist was just sitting there and our cards were off to the side. We asked for the cards back and she said they weren't done with them. We asked how much longer she would need them and she wouldn't answer. So we demanded them back. She made copies of them and then gave us the cards back. We signed no paper work before being seen. And then right as we're getting ready to leave a different receptionist comes in with a stack of paperwork, including paperwork authorizing our son to be admitted to the hospital even though we were leaving. And she said the document was needed to say that we were authorizing treatment, even though the treatment had been completed. It was very strange. If authorization was needed for treatment, shouldn't they have gotten it before we even walked back?
We would not go back there again.
