The last time my sister and I were in Phoenix, we ate at Cibo instead of Pizzeria Bianco. Years later, we found ourselves in Phoenix again with Pizzeria Bianco high up on our list of places to try.
We shared the following pies:
-margherita ($15): tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, basil. Hands down, this is probably the best margherita pizza I have ever had. The tomato sauce had a nice bite, and I loved how fresh the mozzarella tasted. I ate my pizza with bites of anchovy, so the saltiness of the anchovies added another layer of flavor.
-wise guy ($18): wood-roasted onion, house smoked mozzarella, fennel sausage. This pizza is sauceless, which didn't matter. I really liked the smokiness of the cheese, and the sausage had a good snap. I personally like the sweet tinge of the onions, but my sister wasn't a fan of their substantial size.
Our dining experience was lackluster. Our waiter was nice, but was not very informative. We overheard from the waiter from neighboring tables rattle off the history of the menu, the daily specials, and what was in season and what was not etc. Our lunch experience was curt and short.
Pizzeria Bianco was good, but not mind blowingly good.
