| - There are a bunch of things they could do to make this a whole lot better than it is.
First off: the food is actually pretty good. We just had the breakfast buffet, but it's very reasonably priced ($7.99) for everything that's available -- eggs, home fries, bacon and sausage, fruit, cereal, toast, waffles, coffee, tea, and juice. The stuff that was supposed to be hot was hot, the fruit was fresh, the coffee was reasonably strong. All pretty tasty.
But there was a lot of stuff that made it less than pleasant. Very sticky tables and not-quite-clean cutlery, a waffle machine that badly needed cleaning and couldn't produce whole waffles because they'd stick even if you used the waffle spray, a juice machine that just put out water one morning (maybe they forgot to mix the concentrate in), and a weird pukey smell over by the bar where the coffee urn was. The overall impression was of a divey bar where they happen to serve breakfast sometimes.
Do a better job of cleaning and maintaining the place and it'll be really pleasant. But airport-area restaurants know that the bulk of their customers will eat there because it's the only place open, not because it's good, and I think they're just not interested in making it better.
