Our vet for over 17 years. Dr. Lemay was our primary vet and she was wonderful... in the final years of both our cat's lives she proved knowledgeable and kind. On more than one occasion, she contacted vet schools to find out the latest in treatments available to ensure the best possible care and stay up to date... looking for the most effective with the least amount of discomfort for our babies. Her notes were thorough and the odd occasion that we saw a different vet at the same clinic during an emergency they were able to clearly understand her notes and the care was seamless. Every vet we saw at this clinic were patient and effective - even with our very difficult and vocal 20 pound male cat... On more than one occasion we were allowed to wait in an examination room for over an hour until our boy calmed down enough to get accurate heart rate and blood pressure measurement... while this sort of service sometimes meant that things could run late overall... it also meant excellent service and more accurate results on tests which at the time were critical for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
All the tecnical staff, as well as Sylvie at the front desk, are professional and kind... and they get to know their customers. They were also skilled at physically handling our boy without harming him... not easy when faced with a hissing screaming banshee from h*ll. They knew him by reputation and dealt with him with good humour and managed to be firm enough to be efficient while still being gentle on his arthritic joints.
The ethos of the clinic when we were clients and especially of Dr. Lemay was always to recommend the best course of treatment for your pet... not necessarily the one that will be the most profitable to them.
Their kindness at the end of the lives of both our kitties will not be forgotten. Respectful patient and kind... both to our kitties and to us.
This clinic, set in a gorgeous older building on st Hubert near Roy.... is not inexpensive... but as stated above, they make an effort to provide appropriate care with an eye on what will help your pet live a healthy and good life.
The staff are also actively involved in helping local pet sanctuaries both by raising funds and awareness... this is done quietly ... through calenders and raffles... there is love here. Kindness. Respect. Dignity . And a sense of humour that was just the right amount.
When we get a new fur friend... no matter where we live on this city... we will make the trip to this clinic.
Would not hesitate to recommend.
Please note that this vet is probably not the cheapest around but they are SOLID.
