| - After 19 years of Direct TV I am finally cancelling my service. I am not sure if it was AT&T, or them out sourcing their customer service, or them just growing to big for their britches. But man have things changed. They used to care about their customers, and especially long time ones like myself. I was a staunch defender of them when everyone told me how bad their experience was with them. Well, they finally did the same to me. Keeping people on hold for over 40 min, and even when the call escalates to a "supervisor" that line just rings and rings, and eventually some music plays, but nobody ever answers. I was even given a "case number" to give to the scheduler so they could accommodate their own mistake, but alas, nobody reads call notes or case notes...they just wear you down or say whatever they can to try and pacify you. Booking installation used to be a snap. Now you're lucky if they can make it out in 2 weeks to install. With the kind of money they make they can hire a fleet of installers and keep their customers happy. They could hire a giant building full of English speaking reps to help customers with their issues. But nope...they truly do not care about anyone, let alone a long time, loyal person. I paid over $2,500 a year for 19 years....not anymore, and let me tell ya, it felt good to cut them off. I can get everything they offer from the internet piped right to my 60" TV for a fraction of the price. Took an old computer tower, wi-fi'd it, HDMI cable to the TV and presto. Maybe some day they will read these reviews and figure out why this once great service, now sucks, and people are jumping ship left and right.
