Grading tea is a difficult task as there aren't specific grades across the board. The 1st thing I look for is the quality of the tea leaf. Whole leaves are always preferred. Stems add weight and increase price and don't contribute much to flavor. There are also some very specific federal rules on classifying something as organic. This tea store had containers not labeled as organic but the clerks claim it's organic. Based on sales volume the federal guidelines require the proprietor to be certified organic along with the tea if they sell out of bulk containers. Based on what I saw I think Loose Leaf Tea Market has some good products. They failed the federal organic guidelines in my opinion and the tea I bought had stems in it. I hesititated buying the Sticky Rice Pu-ehr because I stated I've had tea before mixed with toasted rice and wasn't a fan. I was assured there was no additives and it naturally taste like rice. After purchasing and tasting I researched the exact product at other stores. Low and behold its tea blended with an herb and has a a touch of "rice scent herb" added as well. Not rice but similar and definitely not as described. I think they have some education to do and some research on federal guidelines.
