| - We joined here for the winter months after deciding we needed to, erm, get into better shape. Pittsburgh is pretty bleak in the winter, so we were forced onto the treadmill. I have absolutely no complaints about this place. None. First and foremost, it is affordable, and there's no obnoxious contract or auto-debiting. Phew. Additionally, we never had to wait for a machine (even at 'rush hour' on week nights), everyone is good about wiping down equipment after using it, the bathroom was always clean, there's a shower to use if you need it, there are plentiful storage lockers, magazines to read if you must, tv to watch if reading makes you sea sick... The fish tanks are a nice touch, although we often found the active fish in the tank up front staring quite poignantly while we used the treadmills immediately to the right :P They also sell drinks and were always vacuuming the place. If you're about to whine about parking, no they don't have parking here. But you can often find a spot either on the street in a metered spot or a block or two over where it's residential permit parking (you can park there without getting ticketed or towed for two hours at a time, I believe). You're headed to the gym; you can walk two blocks to get there!! If I had to join a gym again in the area I'd definitely come back here. If you're not sold, they let you try it out once for $10. Which at that point, what do you have to lose? Besides $10, smarty.
