  • OK, where to start....well, the beginning would be good. Bought a new Fender Acoustic Electric Guitar, my first ever. Played it for a month or two to break it in, and took it back to the store where I purchased it for a complete setup and new strings. When I picked it up and took it home I was devastated to find that it was completely unplayable! A total disaster. I took it back to the store, and they agreed that the in-house guitar repair person's assistant had botched the setup and that the only thing they could do was order me a new guitar. When my replacement guitar arrived I decided to really do some research on the web to find out the ratings and reviews of guitar repair people in the Las Vegas/Henderson area. Neil Smith's Vegas Guitars Custom Shop had the best overall ratings and reviews that I found at that time. So, after I played my new guitar for a few months, I took it, along with two of my other guitars, over to Neil Smith's. One of the guitars was a vintage Framus acoustic guitar built in Bavaria in 1969, that I had previously had some work done on by another in-house guitar repair person at a major music store. Well, when Neil finished the work, I was completely satisfied! Neil managed to setup all of my guitars better than they had ever been done before! The playability, feel, and sound of all the guitars was FANTASTIC! At that moment, I decided that Neil Smith would be the only person I would allow to work on my guitars. Since that time, I have taken my guitars in for other work, and I have always been impressed by Neil's professional manner, his genuine caring, and total honesty of what is needed and what is not needed. And, his prices are the best in my estimation! So, if you need good guitar work, and you are not in a big hurry to have a rush job finished "yesterday"....then, call up Neil & Susi, get your name on the waiting list (it's usually quicker than you think!), and take your guitar to them....(and, while you are there, check out some of his "custom" work!!!) Tell 'em "Bracken" sent you!!!...I'm a long-time fan of Neil Smith's Vegas Guitars Custom Shop! Sincerely, Bracken
