| - I was a client of R&R for approximately 7 years. They were my weekly service and I always had them do any work that needed to be done.
My pool had been a mess for a couple years, it needed work. Once I finally decided to budget for it I asked Scott, the owner, to tell me what I needed to do to fix the situation. The pool was green. I knew there was a big problem. Scott came out and told me my filter was undersized and that is why I was having the issue and it needed to be replaced. Also, we needed to drain the pool and do a treatment to the plaster and then refill it when the new filter was in. We did all of this. Two weeks later the pool started to turn green again.
Again, I called Scott. They came back out and said we needed a new pump. He basically said, your pool is old and it all needs to be replaced. That's fine. It is old.
I was ready to do whatever it took to fix my pool. I was ready to make the investment rather than jimmy rig it up and try to save money. Scott and R&R were my company and I would hire them to do the job!
Again, we needed to drain the pool, treat the plaster, install a new pump, refill and then start the pool. I was ready to go. I called and left messages for Scott to give me a call and let me know when he could start and come to provide an estimate. I sent text messages and I left messages. I knew at the time of the work my pool was crappy and there were issues. Maybe he was tired of dealing with this old crappy pool and he didn't want me as a client anymore. I was fine with that. I actually said in my messages, "please tell me if you don't want me as a client anymore and I will find someone else". It really is a pain in the butt trying to find someone you trust and to bring them up to speed. I really wanted to stay with Scott and R&R. I gave him the benefit of the doubt......maybe he was out of town.....maybe he is missing the messages. I was more than patient. All I asked for was for communication. I didn't want to leave him if I didn't have to. I am loyal to fault. I have sent him several referrals and spent thousands with him.
I am sure he didn't want to deal with my crappy pool and deal with the constant issues. Again, that is fine but I just wanted him to tell me. He went totally dark. I still have the text messages to him pleading for help.
I have since hired a new pool company that installed a new pump, fixed a major leak, added a new pool creepy crawly, fixed my tile and is doing my weekly servicing. They have been fantastic and the pool is looking and working great!
On a personal level, I try to be loyal to the companies and more so the people I do business with. I mean seriously loyal. I always try to refer business and if I can I will stay with a company forever. I have had numerous interactions with Scott and I thought we had a decent professional and nice relationship. I liked him quite a bit and thought he was a nice guy.
At the end he treated me very poorly after years of service, referrals and thousands of dollars. I wish him all the best of luck. It is with heavy heart I have to leave this sort of review. I really don't like to leave this but because I was treated so poorly I really felt the need to provide a level of accountability for his actions.
