The art of the burger is something that seems so easy but also elusive to many restaurants. I went with Papa on Wednesday at precisely 11:20 am to the Gold Nugget, known as a watering hole for true Waunakee natives, to discover if the rumors of the famed burger were true. I got the bacon cheese burger with American, fried onions, and fries. I washed it down with an iced tea, Gold Peak (unsweetened).
The cook: perfect mid rare on the flat top
The patty: nicely seasoned never frozen fresh from the market every day
The bacon: crispy
The fries: crispy golden (perfect)
