| - So I made a Yelp account specifically to write this review. I'm a busy person who hates signing up for yet another website, so that'll give you an idea of just how pissed off my trip here left me.
I was booked for a mani/pedi. The receptionist greeted me with an impressive death glare, which gave me the impression that I was the last person she wanted to see. Seriously, she did not smile once the entire time I was there. Anyway, I sat and waited for a few minutes and was led upstairs to the nail area.
The nail lady was friendly enough, but the quality of the service was terrible. For $80 I have certain expectations, and those include not being allowed to leave the fucking spa until my nails are dry. Seriously. This is the ONLY spa I have ever been to that didn't push my cuticles down before applying polish (so it looks like my polish was actually applied a few weeks ago rather than same-day), and it's the only place I've ever had my nails done where I was told to leave while my nails were still wet. They had no fans or areas to dry my nails, and at *every* nail salon I've ever been to in my life I've never, ever ever had a smear occur while still at the salon, or while paying at the salon. The service was VERY rushed, and I had the feeling they couldn't wait to get my ass out the door. Staff asked me to pay (and dig around in my bag for my wallet and debit card) while my nails were still wet. When I got home almost every nail was smeared or had a dent in it, on both my fingernails and toenails. Not down with that. For $80 I expect more customer-driven and quality-driven service. If I wanted smudged nailpolish with dents in it I would have just stayed home. The technician also got a considerable amount of polish on the skin surrounding my nails, which is also the kind of thing I would expect to happen if I did it at home while watching TV. Alas, 80 bucks down the drain.
Honestly. The places I've been for a $20 set of acrylic nails have a higher quality of service (if not of product) - though what good is fancy organic products if you can't even apply nail polish properly or send your client home before their nails dry?
Do not go to this place, seriously. The nail tech also had the gall to chastise me (seriously) for being 'really late.' I was (count 'em, ladies) four minutes late. Four minutes. Even if I've been twenty minutes late for a hair or nail appointment (shit happens, I'm usually on time but we all have our days) I've never, ever been insulted due to my 'lateness.' And sorry, four minutes isn't late.
Crappy quality of service, high cost, rude staff. You're supposed to leave a salon feeling pampered, but I left feeling terrible. Avoid this place like the plague.
EDIT: I would like to add that since posting this review I received a lengthy message from the Manor people that said they would refund me my shitty service, if I remove this review. Sorry folks, I can't be paid off to lie about my experience (and in removing my review, that's what I'd basically be doing - lying). More evidence that these folks don't care about accountability, and just like to push things under the rug.
EDIT EDIT: I would like to add that my mother is a nail technician, so I know what I'm talking about.
