I had a similar experience to Bernie C's review but a little steeper with the price of unnecessary service. I booked an appointment for the usual complimentary oil change and brake 'service' for my wife's MY15 X3 with 49K on the clock. I elected to wait for the car and after 20 mins my service advisor Scott Lee approaches me with a warning that my rear brakes are at 2mm of pad left (5%) and that they could service them immediately for $730+ tax and I could be on my way in an hour.
Needless to say, the term 'stealership' wasn't coined for no reason. My thoughts at the time were:
1) no vibration when braking or any sign of a wear indicator for rear brakes
2) since when do the rears require new rotor/pad before the fronts???
3) hell no would I service the brakes at Parkview
4) thanks Scott, but no thanks
A week later I took it to another dealer to have them inspected and lo and behold there is 8mm of rear pad left and that I shouldn't require a brake job before returning the car from lease in 12 months!!!
Parkview BMW has completely lost any trust they could have had with me, not that I would ever service anything other than complimentary items there anyway and now I wouldn't even let them do a comp oil change!!! What a way to sever the relationship.
I left a VMail for the Service Manager 'Andrew' to call me back to discuss and guess what? No call back! Big surprise.
I believe Parkview is affiliated with BMW Toronto/BMW Grand River and they're all OFF my list of places to shop for a new car and definitely not service.
