| - When my wife and I checked in, it looked like a train wreck at the front desk, but once it cleared, we began a wonderful five night stay. We immediately started at the concierge to plan our trip. She was extremely thorough, marking each potential spot on a map, recommending theater, galleries, restaurants and tourist spots. Once we had our reservations in hand, we were off to our room.
Everyone comments about the shower, so I will leave that to your imagination. The room was well appointed with modern wood cabinets and closets. The bathroom was modern, with plush robes and a nice set of toiletries.
The bed was extremely comfortable, which was ideal for us as we walked 10+ miles daily plus a bike tour the next day. We had a large area in our room as it was on a high floor. We had plenty of space to surf the Internet as we finalized plans for the next day. The free wifi was pretty spotty, but we were able to manage.
The highlight of our stay was ... ( no, not the shower) the breakfast buffet. The service was spectacular. I was greeted each day with my special order, a pot of green tea and a cappuccino with soy milk. The food was fresh and looked great. I especially am fond of their sesame pumpernickel bagel and tasty jams. There were numerous fruit choices.
Check out my review on the restaurant, Victors. We ate there twice.
The hotel's location is great, on a quiet street one block from King. Second City is just down the block, the playhouses a block or two. Easy walking to Queen St or the Waterfront.
