On my ever expanding quest for the best burger in Phoenix, I pulled up to Lucky Boy today. This place screams "local", as the only way you would ever stop here is if you've been eating here for years. Not much to look at from the outside, (or inside for that matter) I made my way into the place to find a smallish menu with your usual burger joint fare: burgers, fries, chilli, shakes, etc. Ordered me a single with cheese (fries come with) and a Mexi Coke (nice!).
Certainly a decent burger. The best part about it was probably the soft bun. The burger tasted like a buger and the fixins were what you'd expect. Nothing special in anyway.
The fries certainly are not anything to write home about. Previously frozen and deep fried, I got halfway through my burger before I could start to eat them they were so hot out of the frier.
I will not go out of my way to eat here, but I can also see the appeal of a place like this that conjures memories of buger stands passed....
