Ordered an $18.00 French 75. When I got the drink, I noticed it want made correctly. When the barkeep Chris R. noticed that I looked at the cocktail in a curious way, he said we didn't have the egg whites to make the drink the normal way. He said the bird flu prevented them from ordering pasteurized egg whites. (all you need is real eggs to overcome that). Knowing exactly how to make a French 75, I said "don't you think it might be a good to tell the customer that you don't have all of the ingredients to make the cocktail as advertised before they order it and spend $18.00? He said, and I quote "no, the egg whites are just for looks anyway". Unreal. He offered to make something else or "eat the bill" in a snarky kind of way. I told him I would just pay the bill and leave.
After another bartender came over and asked me about the drink he went to the manager and he comped the drink. The manager never came over or spoke with me.
