| - I had to originally post this review on the page for their other location because, at the time, that was the only one listed on yelp. If this gets flagged for being a duplicate, please delete the NLV location review. My experience was at the SW location on Rainbow.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! Please take the time to read the rviews from their other location, which has been open longer, and you will find several nightmare reviews. I wish I had read them BEFORE I took my dogs to this place because they were COMPLETELY accurate and so similar to my experience. The latter 2 reviews are clearly damage control from fake accounts created AFTER the bad review was written. Notice it's their only review and if you've seen the Facebook page of Noah's Ark you will notice the same misspellings and horrible grammar as the positive reviews on here. Nice try. Now for my experience...
I saw a flyer for this place that said $27.99 for a full groom. I figured at that price, and being that it was just around the corner, that it was worth a try. I thought that it would be better taking them to a neighborhood groomer who would become familiar with my dogs, rather than the impersonal (but excellent) service PetsMart had been providing. I called on a Sunday afternoon to make 2 appointments for my dogs. I was surprised to hear I could bring them both right in immediately. When I got there, I thought it was strange that there was no sign above the door, just a cheap banner. I was also put off when I went inside and saw the concrete walls and empty cages scattered as if the place was still under construction. There wasn't a single dog in the place on a Sunday afternoon. I should have walked out but the groomer went into this speech about having 40 years of experience, so I went ahead and requested the $10 upgrade for 'upgraded' shampoo and conditioner and a 'blueberry facial mask' that I had absolutely no interest in. I just wanted the works for my Maltese puppy and 7 year old Shih Tzu, both white females.
When we got back to pick them up, they looked like they had been shaved by a drunk person. They both had pink bows in their hair. Within 60 seconds of them being let out of their cages, a bow had fallen out of each of their heads. The receptionist ran over and tried to put them back in but she clearly didn't know what she was doing. They didn't smell fresh and their faces didn't look washed...let alone trimmed. Somehow their tearstains actually looked WORSE than they did just hours before. We were horrified and asked the groomer to please clean up their faces. She was seriously spooky (honestly the best word to describe her) as she put her face right up to theirs and tried to be the dog whisperer as she told them to "give her some lovin" and other nonsense. Just fix their faces, I thought. She went on to tell us that she was unable to express either dogs anal glands, and they both had ear infections. I just wanted to get them out of there at this point. I didn't want the lady doing any more damage.
14 hours after I picked them up, and they have NOT stopped itching. Their cuts are absolutely horrifying. I will attach pictures but I am honestly embarrassed. This dump needs to be shut down. Go ahead and take a look at their FB page and if you can find your way to the photo albums through the endless posts about Jesus and the gospel and the bible passage posts that are barely legible because of the countless misspellings, you will see either stock pictures of dogs, or legit pictures of the ugliest cuts you have ever seen...including a hot pink poodle.
Shame on this salon for butchering my dogs and shame on me for taking them there just to try and save money. NEVER AGAIN!
I will attach before and after pictures of my Maltese. I just wish my iPhone took better quality images to truly reflect the botched haircuts. It's like a 3 year old was playing with the clippers.
It's now 6am and I am awake waiting for my vet to open and then I am taking them straight to PetsMart to get a proper bath.
UPDATE: I did upload before and after pics but they have been taken down. They were 100% real photos that I took on purpose to upload to yelp. I have no idea why they were taken down but I will upload them again.
I got a message from one of the owners fake accounts today:
"You sound like you work at pets mark so your review was worthless"
It's tough to pretend like you are someone else when your spelling is this bad buddy. Most people know how to spell-check. Regardless, no I do not work at pets mark (or PetsMart) and my review was completely accurate....as was my complaint to the BBB. I see there have been several more 1 star reviews since mine. Thanks to sites like Yelp, it's just a matter of time before your doors are closed.
