Always up for a good pint of Great Dane beer. However, I haven't been to this location in a couple years. I was looking forward to trying it again.
Last night, I met a good friend for after-work drinks. I started with the Black Earth Porter (which is always a personal favorite) at the downstairs bar. When my friend arrived, we moved upstairs since the space was lacking with the happy hour crowd. Next drink choice was a brandy old-fashioned sweet, and it was just what I expected. We finished up the night with pints of Oatmeal Stout. We had not ordered food but I have eaten at other Great Dane locations around town and hadn't ever been disappointed.
The service was impeccable. When I had first arrived, despite the downstairs bar being impressively packed for a Tuesday night, I was greeted by the bartender and reassured that she would get my order shortly. The bartenders were equally attentive when we moved upstairs.
The space is large and accommodating but still has the rich, dark wood that is indicative of that warm pub atmosphere. This location will always be an option when in the area for a drink or dinner. I've also heard they have a pretty amazing weekend brunch.
