| - Talk about a 2,000 calorie meal and milkshakes for alcoholics! I was in Vegas for a convention and my co-worker mentioned to try Holsteins which is located at The Cosmopolitan. We decided to try it out for lunch since we were staying close by at Vdara.
I've been on a moderate diet cutting out the regular bad foods on a daily basis but since I was in town, I decided to fudgeittt! It's been 6 months since I've had a burger and fries.
Their menu is full of gourmet burgers which reminded me of Umami but a bit more on the high end with dry aged beef, kobe, and lamb. I was tempted to try the Gold Standard which was supposedly voted best burger in Vegas, but instead, I opted for "The Rising Sun". It consist of kobe beef with nori furikake, crispy yam, spicy mayo, and a tempura avocado. Enjoyed every bite of this burger. I had to smash the tempura avocado since it's a quarter of a whole avocado. Burger had great flavor. I wish I could have two.
Burger came with shoestring fries or steakcut fries. I chose the steak cut fries and was a bit disappointed. It was cut in wedges and had a light coating of flour. Didn't care for it. I was really hoping for thick cut fries with lots of ketchup and a dash of tabasco.
I was tempted to try their bam boozed shakes which are concoctions of different shakes paired with liquors. It would be too heavy for lunch so I opted not to. Plus, I had an 11 course dinner the prior night.
I enjoyed this place and look forward to coming back. Menu is above average prices, however, worth it being unique and of better quality. Wish they'd open a place like this in LA. Imagine getting buzzed off a milk shake or two combined with brain freeze!!
