So I dropped by Devil's Diner for the 3rd weekend in a row this past weekend. This time, I introduced a friend to their great atmosphere and of course the Corned Beef Hash. His exact words were "this is the best Corned Beef Hash I have ever had", so there is that.
One thing I need to remind people is that even during the busiest times, it's just one chef and one server--so don't berate the server for taking some time to attend to you because she basically runs the whole show. Come here in a relaxed mood, take a second to absorb the ambiance of a traditional diner, and watch the chef do his magic. You come here because you DON'T want the traditional breakfast experience experience you'd get at an iHop or Denny's.
I actually ran into the owner on my way out and he asked me how my meal was. I told him "it's always been good since the new chef" and he chuckled and said "hey now, don't inflate his ego so much--it's inflated enough already--anytime we get a new Yelp review, he comes in and boasts to me about it".
So here's to you, new chef. For consistently providing exceptional service and high quality food (ahem--bring back the high quality tea bags--Lipton sucks), you have earned Devil's Diner a 5 star review.
