| - This may be my first negative review of a restaurant...
I got an online deal. Good thing, I did!
The menu sounded delicious & since I love Creole cooking, I thought it would be great to try this place for lunch. Boy, was I wrong!
First, we walked in and we were not even greeted at the front (even though there was a host podium there). The bartender/waitress simply shouted, to "sit anywhere." The place was pretty empty, w/the exception of a couple guys sitting at the bar & an elderly couple who walked in before us.
We waited about 5 min. Finally, the waitress came by with the menus and to ask about what we wanted to drink. I gave her my certificate. 5 minutes later she came back with our drinks & we ordered appetizers (4 sampling platter). We waited for what seemed to be an unusually long time. We were pretty hungry at that point. Appetizers were OK but, nothing special. Afterwards, I ordered a gumbo bowl and my boyfriend ordered a tropical Burger. After waiting an unusually long time again, they brought his Burger. Which he said was OK. About 5 minutes later, I got what looked like a half tomato & chicken mix can soup, with some fresh chopped okra and tomatoes with a pinch of rice, three small pieces of chicken in a shallow bowl. I took three spoonfuls and was very disappointed... This was the worst gumbo I've ever had in my life! I know how to make gumbo myself. And, I can definitely make it at least 10x better than this crap they serve! I pushed away from me and sat there very disappointed. The waitress came by and gave my boyfriend a refill. Do you think she once asked how everything was or even paid attention that I wasn't eating? Not at all. I went to their FB page and posted that I did not recommend their gumbo. She finally came back again. Finally asked about the "soup". I just told her I did not like it. She offered to exchange it for something else. Veggie Burger was edible. About 5 min later, I saw they had deleted my FB post. Well guess what? You can't delete THIS one! :-p
