I just moved to Scottsdale, and Dukes is right down the road from where I live. I went twice when I first got here. The first time I went to watch the Panthers game.. since there are no Carolina bars in PHX. Our waitress was AMAZING! She was friendly and down to earth, and always went out of the way to make sure we were satisfied. The food during that visit was pretty sub-par- I got their strawberry walnut salad, and they offered me every kind of dressing ever except Balsamic Vinaigrette. I feel like that's a pretty basic dressing to have and I'm still confused as to why they have 3 fruit vinaigrettes but no balsamic- but I digress. My boyfriend got a burger medium-rare, and it came out well done. I will say, though, we ordered onion rings as an appetizer and they were SO DELICIOUS. I don't know what kind of crack they put in their breading but omg gimme dat!
The onion rings were actually what coerced me to go back a few days later- I couldn't stop thinking about them! This time I went with the BBQ chicken salad and it was better. On this visit, we met the owners and they were both really great- we could tell that they truly cared about their business and their patrons. Definitely a plus.
My only other complaint about this bar is the lack of lighting. They have closed shutters over all of their windows. Yes, I understand this is the desert and it gets hot- but it would be nice to not feel so cramped in.
