rev:text	Whatever you do don't ask for a change order!! You'll get absolutely ripped off. Ira came in and asked what I was looking for in my small walk in pantry. He proceeded to draw up a design which looked to match what I'd wanted. Unfortunately he didn't draw it to scale and didn't lay it out with a tape measure or anything to show me how it would look in the space. So once installation day comes the installer starts doing the install and as he was going out to cut the corner shelves I decided to check on the progress, only to discover that the corners were tiny. My intention was to put in large oversized items, as I'd told Ira when we originally met, but the opening was barely big enough for me to fit a normal pot, much less something oversized. I immediately went out and discussed with the installer who called Ira. We discussed widening the opening by narrowing one set of shelves, however this was going to require new corner shelves. I understood that this required extra material, however I didn't feel as though I should be 100% responsible, since Ira hadn't drawn the original design to scale or laid it out with me in the space. I felt that a 50/50 split of the costs was more than fair and Ira agreed. He told me it would cost an extra $50, which I felt was very reasonable and agreed to. Second install day came around and the installer comes back with the new shelves as we'd agreed upon. Finished the install and provides me with an invoice, however instead of the $50 Ira and I agreed upon there's a handwritten increase of $250!!! He tells me Ira told him it was $50 per shelf. Last I checked you can buy a sheet of melamine for a heck of a lot less than $500. I don't know what happened to splitting the material costs 50/50, but evidently Ira isn't a man of his word or needs to work on his communication skills. I don't know about most people, but I'm not a big fan of having to pay an extra 20% of the original cost just for 5 shelves. The project looks good, for the most part, but they've definitely lost my large walk in closet project or any other needs or referrals I might have in the future.
