| - First, the facility: very nice, I took my dog there for obedience classes (hosted by a third party) and it was great.
BUT, I took my pup there for doggie daycare twice about 5 months ago and I'll never go back. The first time I dropped him off he was very excited. I assume he recognized where we were because of the classes we had taken. I had a busy day at work and didn't get to watch him on the webcam much (and the few times I pulled it up I couldn't find him anyway). The second time I took him, he DID NOT want to go with the staff. That made me very nervous, so I decided to keep a close eye on the webcam throughout that day. I couldn't believe what happened... For over 3 hours, my boyfriend and I at our respective offices watched the webcam, and from the texts between us I have a recorded timeline of what occurred. We saw him playing for a total of less than 20 minutes. The first hour the webcam was off. Once it was turned on, we spotted him in a playroom for about 20 minutes. Then he disappeared, and an hour passed with no sighting. Eventually I called and asked where he was. I was told the dogs were moved out of the play room for a few minutes so a non-social dog could get some time to play. So where was he? In a kennel. I really wasn't happy to hear that, but they promised he would be back soon. Another 45 minutes passed with no sign of him. I called again. This time I was told the staff was on a break, but it would only last a few minutes. My dog was still in a kennel. Another half hour passed and I couldn't take it anymore. I called and told them if he was going to have to sit in a kennel I would rather it be at home (which is familiar to him and free!) and I was coming to pick him up.
To their credit, they were very apologetic when I arrived. They didn't charge me, and promised to review the tapes of the day. Fine, but I'm not going back to a daycare that regularly kennels the dogs. What is the point of that??
