My experience: I called Nevada Orthopedic & Spine Center seeking treatment for a back injury. I was told by the doctor in the urgent care center who examined me after my accident, that treatment for this injury was urgent.
But "Brenda" (which may or may not be her real name) who had taken my call to the Nevada Orthopedic & Spine Center told me I had to wait 6-8 weeks before I would be allowed to see a doctor, and that, while I waited, I would have to wear a back brace.
How is it that "Brenda", who was probably not a medically trained professional, was able to determine the medical necessity of the 6-8 week waiting period, or the medical necessity of wearing a back brace, especially without examining me or my x-rays. Why would Nevada Orthopedic & Spine Center allow their scheduling department to dispense medical advice?
This raised several red flags, so I found a real doctor who saw me right away and who told me he would NEVER prescribe a back brace especially without an examination, and that my condition required immediate attention that a waiting period 6-8 weeks would only exacerbate.
Avoid Nevada Orthopedic & Spine Center.
