Imagine requesting a service and being asked to whip out your wallet BEFORE a service has been rendered or even SCHEDULED. Yeah, that's what Diamondback Plumbing felt they had a right to do this time. I simply asked them on the phone while inquiring about a service call if they would take a credit card payment over the phone from my out-of-state landlord to fix a hot water line. Sure they said, just have him fax back the credit authorization form! We will email it right now to you! Great! So I emailed the form, and then waited for them to call me back to let me know they were sending someone over...and waited..and waited. So I don't get a plumber, but a phone call several hours later from the plumber himself saying "We haven't received the credit card authorization form YET. Please call us back." Huh? Well, Diamondback Plumbing must not think I was "good for it" and wanted their money first. Seems very unorthodox for a business to want to see "proof" of future payment for a service that hasn't been even rendered yet.
