  • What a cozy, friendly neighborhood coffee joint, tucked conveniently close to the Rocky River Reservation! I lived nearby for quite some time and never made it to Blackbird. When I was back in the area recently, I made it a point to visit and wanted to review. Located right on the corner of Sloane and Detroit at the edge of Lakewood and Rocky River, this place is easy to miss if you're not looking. I found parking and an entrance off of Sloane Ave, but I think there is also an entrance on Detroit. Inside there were all kinds of fresh-baked treats for humans and canines alike. I picked up some of the doggie bones for the furry friends in my life, and some whole freshly-roasted beans for a human friend. The whole place smells delicious, a mix of fresh-baked bread and roasting coffee; if they could bottle that scent and sell it as a home fragrance, they would make a fortune on it! This is a perfect place for a pick-me-up on a leisurely weekend morning. But don't just take my word for it, visit sometime and see for yourself!
