  • I've tried so hard to like this place. I've been to all the local Peruvian joints (R.I.P. Contigo and InkaFest). Now it's just down to Tumi in Chandler vs Villa Peru. We've been here about four times, and I swear that we've had issues each time both with the food and (especially) the service. We keep getting a waiter who I assume is the owner's son. This kid is clueless about the menu, promotions, and how to be a waiter (almost smacked me in the face with the water pitcher). Also, the building has no fans, AC barely on, and stuffy as all hell. So we asked to sit out on the patio, and each time we ask, the kid looks like we asked him if we could sit on the roof. Then he sighs and tells us we can sit on the patio. Last time we went, we went with a LS voucher. Got there and a woman came to our table and completely changed the terms of the voucher, wouldn't give us some of the food, and completely limited our meal options to 6 plates out of the whole menu. Overall, food is flavorful, but extremely small portions for your money. I ordered the Shrimp Saltado and it came with 5 pieces of shrimp, 1/2 tomato, lots of red onions, some oven fries, and a heap of plain rice. Mind you, this costs $14.50. The honey got the steak version and his came with a bit more meat (his was cheaper too). I've given up on this restaurant. My advice, take the drive down to Chandler to Tumi. It's worth the drive for better quality food and better service.
