| - Oh arepas!!! I do love thee!!! Warning, if you are on a diet that requires you to neglect the decadent foods in life.. Don't come here, unless you want to be a rebel. I like rebels!!!
I had been here in the past, so I'm very well acquainted with the reina pipiada arepa (stuffed with chicken salad avocado mix) which is one of my favorites, chicharron arepa, and steak arepa.. All favorites. I wanted something different, so I opted for the smoked pork ribs with a side of rice and beans and a cachapa. Oh lord.. Here it goes!
Smoked pork ribs- so tender it fell off the bones. The flavor was robust and a touch smokey, but not overwhelming. Just plain delicious.
Black beans- almost tasted like chili beans... I ate them all.
Rice- was yummy and like that it's mixed with corn and peas.
Cachapa- I can eat these all day everyday. It's a sweet and savory corn pancake stuffed with ooey gooey mozzarella cheese. This dish alone will ruin any plans of obtaining that coveted 6pack. Stay away for it is HIGHLY addictive.
I fell in love with the food, but most importantly, with the friendly staff. They were also quite perceptive because as our server was ready to deliver the food, he noticed the table was wobbly, so he immediately bent down to adjust it. He came by a few times to check on us and made sure we were completely satisfied. I sure was.
Viva las arepas is a no brainer, and I will most certainly return until I have conquered every dish they have. Thank god pool season is over.
