| - I usually don't let one bad interaction move me to review a business on yelp or similar, but this was so disastrously bad, I logged in for the first time in a while.
I have a somewhat rare insurance for Madison(land) and finding psychiatric care has been a challenge as I am new to the area. I contacted Mental Health Solutions and after some weeks, they informed me that I could set an intake appointment with one of their three psychiatrists. This intake was set for about two months in the future, which is pretty usual for mental health care. I stressed that I was needing to stay current on my medications and that a big goal was to seek continuing uninterrupted medication. I have clinical, unipolar depression--not awesome, of course, but rather mundane in the world of mental health care. My medication treats the most severe symptoms of depression--one of which is, of course, suicidal thoughts, among the assorted shit sandwich grab bag of symptoms of the disease.
Two weeks before my appointment, MHS called to cancel. They also made it seem like it was my fault somehow, even though I had done nothing wrong besides wanting to support their business! Apparently, the appointment never should have been set in the first place. This seemed fine to whoever in their employ called me, but IT WAS NOT FINE TO ME. They had wasted nearly two months of my time while my refills ran out and I could have been looking for another doctor! The person calling me had no sympathy and also stated they couldn't take me as a cash patient, as she believed it was "illegal" -- as far as I can tell, this isn't at all true. She also had nowhere to refer me, and rushed me off the phone.
It's telling that the other two reviews of this place talk about lying and false facts. This place is unprofessional and uncaring.
