  • I wouldn't call it the best fish fry in Dane county, there are so many others I won't mention here. Should you eat here definitely. It was a good fish fry. It was not all you can eat. I had the sampler plate with three different kinds of fish during lunch hour. The fish was not fishy at all. and was cooked perfect with not too much breading. It was not battered. The seasoned fries were REALLY salty. The slaw was also good. The Old Fashioned, ok. Again I've had way better elsewhere. The other person in our lunch had no complaints and enjoyed her food, I think she had a chicken sandwich. Again it is good food, it is really expensive for the same food you can get elsewhere, better and cheaper. The ambiance is old world tavern. and always crowded. I've never gotten a spot at the bar and I live right around the corner. The smell coming out of the kitchen that fills the neighborhood makes me want to eat there every day. If you are in ANY kind of hurry, you will wait to get in here. There is usually always a line no matter what time of day you go, especially weekend breakfasts and evenings. A lot of times the line is outside which means you can't wait at the bar and have a few drinks. All in all you should trying it.
